If there's anything we know from human history, it's that people tend to deceive, and it's not just homo sapiens. All through the animal kingdom, survival often depends on whether predator or prey can successfully make the other think something is true when it's not! It's just that our kind seems to be especially good at it.
Thing is, our species' more effective use of deception has only resulted in a slow-but-steady march toward ending our survival!
If, then, deception is hard-wired into human nature, is it really possible to prevent it from happening or, at least, to recognize it when it does? Maybe even stop it?
Difficult as it is, I believe we not only can, but must learn how to spot lies and expose them, especially when they come from those to whom we entrust the most power--like the police, the church, and educational institutions.
On this site, I will do my best to expose those deceptions that have the most adverse impacts on ordinary people, especially the most vulnerable--children, minorities and the poor.
It's my hope that, by doing so, I can help prevent or, at least, reduce the amount of suffering inflicted by those who should know better than abuse the power entrusted to them, but choose to do it anyway!
